THE accident...

On May 19, 2006, tragedy  struck.  During a mountain bike ride with a friend, my front tire washed out while navigating a right hand bend.  The loss of control sent me head first to the ground, shattering my 4th cervical vertebrae and permanently injuring my spinal cord.  The injury left me completely paralyzed from the neck down.  In a split second, I lost my independence, dreams shattered and life turned upside down.

Since sports have always been my outlet and identity, how will I deal with depression, express myself or find my new identity.
